This deck is in need of a restoration! We popped open a Lovitt’s Cleaner & Brightener Kit and got to work restoring this 1000 square foot deck.
First we mixed up the cleaner with 5 gallons of water in a bucket, then we applied the Lovitt’s Cleaner to the wood surface using a pump style sprayer and waited about 10 minutes or so, then we power washed the old failed stain right off.
Next, we mixed up the 2nd step of brightener/neutralizer in our same 5 gallon bucket (washed out of course) and applied it using the same pump sprayer (weed sprayer) and applied it to the wood. The brightener/neutralizer works instantly on contact, then we waited about 5 minutes then just flood rinsed the deck until the product is rinsed off thoroughly!
After the wood was allowed to dry, we came back and sanded the “fuzz” from the surface of the deck and applied 2 coats of Lovitt’s Emerald Gold wood finish! Looks great!
Here’s what the deck looks like now! We applied 2 coats of Lovitt’s Emerald Gold wood finish and back-brushed the finish into the wood really good.
